Downtown OC, Old & New -- Victorian Lady

In downtown Ocean City, Maryland, you can see the evolution of beach resort architecture over more than a century. Times change, tastes change, styles change. This post and the three below show only a few of the eye-catching buildings, old and new, in downtown Ocean City.

It seems appropriate to start with this Victorian lady, "The Taylor House" built in 1905 at the corner of Baltimore Avenue and Talbot Street. The second and third floors are rented as apartments. There must be some interesting rooms, with plenty of windows and light, inside those rounded walls. Looks like a great setting for a Gothic novel.

Maybe Ocean City could have a contest in which visitors would suggest alternative color combinations for this landmark house.
