Boat Show & Valentine's Day In Ocean City
(Photo courtesy of Ocean City Department of Tourism) -- The first big holiday weekend of the year is in sight. Coming up in eight days or less is the 26th Annual Seaside Boat Show at the Ocean City Convention Center. Plus Valentine's Day! And President's Day!
The Seaside Boat Show, featuring 350 boats and 150 exhibitors, will be Friday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 15, in Ocean City, Maryland.
Don't forget, Saturday, Feb. 14, is Valentine's Day! Monday, Feb. 16, is President's Day. We could use a long, romantic weekend, right about now.
You could go skiing on President's Day weekend, but you might break your neck. The Boat Show is much safer. It's indoors and warm. Oceanfront hotels with nice, indoor swimming pools are nearby. (Also, downhill skiing conditions are not so good this winter at Snow Hill. There's no snow, and the ski lift is missing.)
Seaside Boat Show details: The boat show is at the Ocean City Convention Center, bayside at 40th Street. Admission is $8 for adults and only $1 for children. Bring the whole family. The Boat Show is sponsored by the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club. Proceeds help fund Optimist Club youth programs in the community.
I understand that boat industry exhibitors from all over will be showing their newest and most popular models, and offering special Boat Show prices. Somebody will win a Sweetwater pontoon boat, donated by North Bay Marina.
You could buy your sweetheart a boat for Valentine's Day! Then go out for dinner at a nice restaurant Saturday night. That would just about make up for the time you forgot her birthday!
