Heavy-duty Support for the Boardwalk

Work continues on a section of the boardwalk in front of the Kite Loft and the Comfort Inn, between 5th and 6th Streets.

The top picture, taken Jan. 9, shows the work looking north. A wide lane covered with plywood is open to allow walkers and bikers past the work site. But the plywood lane has recently moved from the east side of the boardwalk to the west side, as work progresses.

The picture at right, taken today, Jan. 11, shows how the boardwalk is supported with concrete and wood beams.

The weekend turned out to be better than the weather forecast. An unseasonably warm, sunny day on Saturday, with no rain until late in the afternoon. Sunday was sunny but colder.
