Route 50 Bridge -- One Lane Each Way
Work started today on the second phase of resurfacing the Route 50 bridge connecting the barrier island (Downtown Ocean City, Maryland), to West Ocean City and the mainland.
Bridge traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the work. The State Highway Administration intends to have the project finished before the Memorial Day Weekend.
Consider taking an alternate route to the Route 90 bridge, which will bring you into Ocean City at 62nd Street. If you're driving a big truck, you should definitely use the Route 90 bridge while they're working on the downtown bridge.
The SHA resurfaced two lanes on the Route 50 bridge last spring, and is doing the other two lanes this spring. New sidewalks, too!
Please drive gently!
