Downtown OC, Old & New -- Classic Motel and Cottage

Variety! Here are two different commercial buildings, across from each other on 2nd Street. Both are classics with nostalgic charm. They both look like "Summer at the beach!"

The Sea Breeze, at left, is a classic American motel from the 1950s and 1960s era. FYI, this motel is for sale. I kind of hope the buyers will continue to operate it as the Sea Breeze, but it would also make a nice site for new townhouses like the ones shown in the post below.

The small, two-level cottage, at right, is a classic beach house from the early part of the 20th century. Notice it has porches front and back. There used to be a "Sub Station" on the ground level in front, facing the street. That commercial space is now for rent. Truth to tell, this cottage doesn't look as cute from the front as it does in this photo from the side. But the front could be easily remedied.

Two classics. I imagine that complete information on either of these properties could be had for the price of a phone call to your Realtor.

  1. The cottage pictured has a lovely apartment above the now defunct "sub station". It features several airy rooms, with a private back porch surrounded by greenery. Many pleasant evenings were spent on that porch, after the owners closed their jewelry store (on the Boardwalk) for the night! Reminiscing of the early 70s!
